A trip south-Part 1

It,s Tuesday the 15th of September, and i'm heading south to Wales and England to visit family.
I'm leaving a day earlier than intended,so i can get quite a way down, and then i can have a nice scenic run tomorrow.
Which silly old duffer went two junctions on the M58,before he realised he'd come off the M6 two junctions early.
Eventually i came off the M56,and headed down the A49 to Whitchurch, then on to the A495 to the Shropshire village of Ellsmere.
It was after 8.30pm when i had the good fortune to enquire about B & B in the Red Lion Coaching Inn.
The chef had gone home, but mine host Adam managed to conjure me up an excellent dinner of home made steak pie chips and peas. There were only en suite double rooms available, but he charged me for only a single.Excellent !
A quick look round sleepy Ellsmere to walk of my dinner.
Wednesday morning, and i'm on the road.Heading for Oswestry,i stop here at Whittington Castle to take pictures.I'm intending to join the A483 to take me diagonally through the heart of Wales down to the M4 above Swansea.
I'm over the border with a quick stop at Welshpool.
On then to Newtown otherwise known as Y Drenewydd

A stop at Sugar Loaf Viewpoint with the Brecon Beacons to the south.
I decided back at Ellsmere i'd take a few pub signs this trip. Here's a few.
I drove through the busy towns of Llandrindod and Bluith Wells, before stopping here at Llandovery.
Back on the road and i pass through Llandeilo and Ammanford before heading down the M4 to ...
...Laleston,where after an excellent repast and a glass of wine we walked along the coastline at Locks Common just north of Porthcawl.
A beautiful sunset finishes a very enjoyable day.
