Blairmount Pond July 2013

Early yesterday evening, Monday the 15th of July, I took a walk round Blairmount pond through Doonhill Woods just behind my house. Here's a few pictures I took.

  2. Wonderful to have that more or less at your doorstep Jim.
Mm, I haven't been around to my local ponds for a while, you've inspired me to do so!

  3. It's a great time of year to be out and about around ponds Jim. Like the young scraggy bird photograph. Round our way they go to nightclubs at that age.

  5. Thanks Linda, ditto.

Look forward to seeing your ponds Rose.

The scraggy birds mother was in the next picture. She probably told her she was n't going out like that ha ha

It must have been something to do with the weather Tammie, but I honestly have never seen the Bog Cotton flourishing so much as it has this year. Maybe it's time to start harvesting it if it continues to be so plentiful.

  6. Most baby animals look cuter than the adult version. I don't think that applies to moorhens - they definately improve with age.
It's good to have a nice wild spot on your doorstep.
