Ardachie Fell,a Cock Pheasant, Stepping Stones and a Dead Otter

I decided to take a run up the minor road between Shennanton and Carseriggan, and a short walk up through the Bennan woods up to Ardachie Fell.
Reaching the woods i took this picture of my car.

There's a lot of rocks around these fells. The positioning of much of these stone walls and dykes up here, suggest much activity in the past.

This is only one of a number of enclosures that haven't seen use in many a year.

This fella was trying hard to impress the girls.

Meanwhile over at the River Bladnoch, the Ordnance Survey map mentions 'Stepping Stones' and here they are.

Let's hope this otter died of old age.It had a great set of teeth anyway.
