Thursday the 14th of January 2009.
The snow which had been steadily melting over the last couple of days returned overnight and this morning.Wellies on i headed out for a little walk.
The birds are surviving well. The turnover in the pound shop for peanuts and sunflower seeds has been phenomenal. They're a nature loving crowd around Newton Stewart.
Here's the pond at the Barnkirk sawmill.
There was hardly a soul out this morning. This wee chap seemed happy enough though.
Over by Knockbrex i was eyed with suspicion.
I came across quite a few tracks. At the top here would be deer, and obviously a large bird on the bottom, but the middle ones looked like cat.Maybe the big black cat that keeps getting spotted round these parts.
Over towards Barbuchany i spotted some cattle.Hopefully they had another water trough, this one would take some licking !
Meanwhile back on the roads it's business as usual.
Nearly ten o'clock at night now,and the snow's nearly gone. It'll stay up the hills a little longer, but that's probably our lot for a while.
