Winter's arrived here in the Gateway to the Galloway Hills.
Here's a few pictures from yesterday and today, Thursday the 29th of January 2015.
Added 30th January 2015
A few more taken on a walk to the Cairn and Lonesome Pine on Knockman Hill.
The whole series of images is just exquisite. This epitomises a winter wonderland. I can't choose a favourite between the ducks/birds and the beautiful village/landscape shots. The moon? stunning!
ReplyDeleteThe additions on the 30th are even more stunning.
DeleteThanks for the wonderful comment Rose, I think you'll love Scotland
DeleteSome very atmospheric shots Jim. You seem to have been getting similar weather to what we've had in Langholm.
ReplyDeleteI love the snow and ice Sandy, pity we can't have it in warmer temperatures !
DeleteSome great photos Jim. Love the Goldfinches on the feeders. You seem to get a lot of them in the borders and I always see them on walks down there but they are pretty scarce around here. Council workers clearing the pavements are a rare breed in Glasgow as well. All the side streets and pavements around me have been covered in snow and ice for over a week now.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bob, I'm wondering if Goldfinches are on the increase Bob. I saw loads down in Gloucester too.
DeleteWe've had the council workers clearing pavements, but the main town square where people wait for buses is still as slippery as ever. Sods Law I guess.
yea, you got snow. so pretty in your photos.
ReplyDeletethose clouds in your ending photos are amazing!
those birds are so pretty, what type are they?
The birds are Goldfinches Tammie,
DeleteThose clouds full of snow were the last fall close to the town. However it's cold enough that the snow has stayed.
