A Pictorially Wet and Windy Day

A circular car tour today produced some interesting pictures.
At the top end of Gatehouse of Fleet, the resident swans were building their nest. This one came towards us as we approached,it may have been the male being protective

Heading over the moors towards Laurieston we encountered a Red Kite just feet above the car,my camera wasn't ready and my companion Celtic Sam couldn't get the picture. If either of us had had a brain,i could have grabbed Celtic Sams camera and got the picture.
Not to worry though, just outside Mossdale we managed to snap a couple.
Celtic Sam got the best one, mine is the inset.

Just prior to snapping the Red Kites we'd come across this unusual sign.Celtic Sam took this picture.Perhaps the farmer is also an artist!

We stopped on the New Galloway to Newton Stewart road to film and photograph some horses.None came up to blog standard.
Nearly home when we had to make a detour because of a fallen tree.
After taking the back road into Minigaff,we doubled back to take pictures.
One lone policeman was this side of the tree.He wasn't bothered by us taking pictures. As we snapped away a local farmer arrived at the other side with a chainsaw.

We left them to it,and went home for tea.
