The Cree
Monday Morning
8th of October 2014
After the rain of the last couple of days I knew there'd be more water in the river.
I walked from Cree bridge to the bypass bridge but could go no further since the walk/cycle path was flooded. Here's a few of the pictures I took.
This was the moon just after 8 pm tonight.
I know what you mean - just saw your comment!
ReplyDeleteThere's something so compelling about a swollen river - the sheer power I suppose, and the not knowing what it might do.
(love all the birds of course)
I too took a moon shot last night at around 7pm here, and I didn't post it because I can assure you it looked nothing like your brilliant shot! I decided to take it 48 hours early (it was a clear sky) and that can change so quickly!
Water is an amazing thing isn't it Rose. We need it for life, but when it decides it can take life just as easily. When Newton Stewart flooded in November 2012 it was reported as a once every fifty years occurrence. It flooded again December 2013. Thankfully there was no loss of life like happens in Bangla Desh
DeleteAwesome photos...and that moon!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda, I like photographing the moon but mine pale into insignificance with some of the images on the internet
DeleteGreat selection of shots Jim. Love the cheeky jackdaws as they always seem to walk with a swagger. I was travelling down south somewhere when all that rain fell at the weekend. Wild driving conditions at night with visibility close to zero on the motorway. .
ReplyDeleteThe jackdaw was close to a picnic table that sits by the riverside Bob. I guess he often dines there.
